Tips on picking the BEST Real Estate CRM Software

What’s the BEST Real Estate CRM software? I wish I could give you a simple answer like “Easy Real Estate CRM”, then you’d go buy the CRM and we’d both be happy.

But it’s not that simple.

Choosing a CRM is a lot like buying a car. In essence, you want the same thing - a machine that gets you to where you want to go. But I don’t have to over-stretch the analogy to tell you that it’s the small details and features that make the difference.

Choosing a CRM, or a car, depends on a multitude of factors that are specific to your business and your personal working style.

These factors can include budget, to which features you’d like, to what type of interface you prefer to work in.

Ask yourself some important questions

My strongest advice is this: sit down and ask yourself what do you want to get out of your CRM?Do you mainly want to:

  • manage your contacts
  • share contact information within your team

Or do you have broader requirements:

  • follow up on leads
  • pipeline management
  • email marketing (drip campaigns, lead nurturing etc)
  • activity management
  • lead capturing

There are systems out there that offer these things and more, in various combinations.Caveat: Your CRM is only working on half-steam if you’re not using integrations.

What are integrations?

Integrations are third-party apps that you’re using for your business needs, which you then integrate with your chosen CRM. These third-party apps are cloud apps. They can range from an email server such as Google Contacts, a marketing automation app such as HubSpot, or an email marketing app like MailChimp. Most businesses work with several cloud apps. The problem is these apps are rarely integrated. This means you’ll have lead and client data dispersed across all of these apps and you’ll spend hours every month updating each app with the current lead/client database, and then spend hours every month deleting bounced emails and old leads. It also means you’re never 100% sure if you’re emailing the right email address, and you always have to double check that you’re calling the right number.

Benefits of integrating your apps

If you integrate your third-party apps with your CRM, your database will be automatically up to date. This means you’ll save time on contact management, and you’ll never have to look for a contact again. You’ve got two choices when it comes to integrating your apps together:

  1. Native integrations. Many CRMs natively integrate with some third-party apps. This is great but presents two problems for you, one problem is that you will have a very limited choice of apps to choose from. Don’t like the other apps? too bad! Back to square one. The other problem is that these integrations are often one-way data pushes, so while one database may be up to date, the other one will still require maintenance.
  2. PieSync. PieSync automatically syncs your contacts 2-way and in real time across your apps. All you have to do is set up the connection, and then let us take care of the work for you. Sign up for a 14-day free trial and see how easy it is.
