## Default Field Mapping

Depending on the other app you're syncing with, you'll see a number of standard FunnelFLARE fields being mapped by default. For instance, in a connection with Google Contacts, the default field mapping looks like this:

## Customizable Field Mapping

You can custom map your FunnelFLARE Custom Fields and any additional standard fields that aren't included in the default mapping yet. Bear in mind a mapping between two fields can only exist if the types of fields are compatible, and the particular compatibility will determine the direction of the mapping as well. ### Syncing Deletions

Currently, there are no FunnelFLARE integrations on the PieSync platform that support our [deletions sync](/help/features/syncing-deletions/).

<InfoBox>Dependent on the apps you use, the PieSync rules allow you to create a behaviour where it will add a specific tag to the contacts you wish to delete. This allows you to manually check this new subset of contacts in FunnelFLARE, to see if you actually want to delete them there as well. </InfoBox>

### Syncing Unsubscribes

In connections between FunnelFLARE and some marketing tools we support such as e.g. [MailChimp](/help/connector-apps/mailchimp/), you are able to [sync unsubscribes](/help/features/syncing-unsubscribes/) one-way. When a contact gets unsubscribed in your marketing tool, we add the tag 'PieSync Unsubscribes' to that same contact in FunnelFLARE. You will be able to review this segment first before taking any action in FunnelFLARE too.

How to set up specific apps, what rules are available and mapping overviews

## What is possible? 

### Contacts 

The beating heart of our syncing engine can help you with keeping your contact information in sync, at all times. 

Depending on the app you're using, you might see alternative names such as Audiences, Customers, Users, etc.
The basic principle is that we display the same name as the entity the app uses as its contact repository. 

In the example below, we are syncing contacts between HubSpot and QuickBooks. In this case, the respective contact repositories are called "Contacts" and "Customers":

### Leads

Similar to our contact sync, our engine is also able to sync the leads entity in your apps.

#### Some key take aways: 

- Some applications have a standalone Leads entity. PieSync is able to incorporate that in the sync. You can choose which contact type you wish to sync during the 3rd step of the configuration process, as shown in the example below for Microsoft Dynamics 365:

- It might be that your application doesn't have a leads entity, while you can see leads in your account. In such cases, the leads are stored within the Contacts section and distinguished by a particular field (e.g "Status"). We are able to incorporate those in the sync as well. 


### Companies

Also known as "Accounts" or "Organizations", this is the third entity that PieSync is able to sync. It does come with a nuance though.

- Our companies sync is only available for a limited number of applications. A full overview of the supported apps can be found at the bottom of [this page](https://www.piesync.com/help/faq/can-i-sync-company-account-information/ "Syncing Company / Account info").

- PieSync only offers a company to company sync. This means companies or accounts can't be synced to a contact entity. Doing so will result in the following error message: "The selected combination of entities cannot be synced"

- For some integrations, PieSync is able to expose Company related fields when syncing Contacts. This allows you to sync company related information on the contact level.

When available, these fields will be visible in the sync configuration as shown in the example below:

At this point, we focus on syncing your contact data. The entities listed above cannot be synced at the moment. However, this doesn't mean we won't support them in the future. On the contrary! Our developers are currently working on ways to implement some of these features as well.

## 5 quick steps to do before you hit "Sync!"

**1) Pause other syncs to your apps**

Turn off or pause any existing integrations in parallel (other PieSyncs, Zapier, Fullcontact, etc). Leaving these syncs on can lead to unpredictable results. Check your CRM's account settings, you may already be syncing some data (one way).

**2) Back up your data**

In the next step, we'll give you some tips on cleaning up your data. That's why it's wise to make a backup first should you be too enthusiastic in cleaning contacts. [Google Contacts, Icloud, ContactsPlus save a temporal state of your Contacts so you can always go back to a state prior to a sync](/help/want-to-learn-more/revert-a-sync/). **3) Time to clean**

Delete contacts you won't ever need anymore. You may want to empty Google's ["Other Contacts" folder](https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1069522?hl=en&visit_id=1-636459121173695326-1876924094&rd=1) filled with legacy contacts. Make sure your source & target data is rid of duplicates. Use the “find & merge duplicates” features of Google/iCloud/Outlook or from your CRM.

Once the sync is started, you can continue performing these clean up operations. PieSync [can detect cleaning](/help/want-to-learn-more/cleaning-up-duplicates-in-your-crm/) up contacts.

**4) Do a sanity check**

Perform a human check on whether the find&merge duplicates did its job. Merge whichever duplicates that weren’t detected automatically, delete old contacts or old addresses. By default, PieSync will only sync contacts that have an e-mail address, which is what we then use on the other side of the sync to keep your contacts unique. 

**5) Run a test sync**

If you want to test PieSync on a limited dataset, you can apply some intelligent rules to narrow down the sync.

*   For instance, adapt rules to only sync contacts with a specific dedicated test-tag, and have it update a specific field on the other side as extra proof. If you only tag one contact in your CRM with this very specific tag, only this contact will sync. The other contacts remain untouched.![](//images.ctfassets.net/f2ysq090txql/4H8IOtuSEcAwFFWpEMv4A4/4315bb78f5091ac100c72fcc71ac5f69/blob)
*   Don't have tags in your app? Consider creating a test contact with a dummy or test e-mail address and only leave this rule enabled. Works just as well. Just know that sometimes a dummy e-mail address won't get created inside your ESP client.

*   Furthermore, you can always disable rules to prevent contacts from being created into an environment where you want to avoid unexpected contacts from being pushed towards!

Preparing your data for PieSync

By default, an iPhone will store contacts on iCloud, or, if you've opted out from iCloud, it will store them locally on your phone. How do you get these contacts synced up to other services? It all depends on where they are now! 

*   If your iPhone contacts are stored in iCloud, you can choose to [sync your contacts from iCloud directly to many of PieSync's other supported apps](http://www.piesync.com/icloud/).
*   If you're not using iCloud, you should consider moving your contacts to a cloud service, as only then will PieSync work.

**But even if your contacts are currently stored in iCloud**, and [PieSync supports iCloud](http://www.piesync.com/icloud/), you may want to make sure your iPhone uses Google Contacts instead, especially if the rest of your business runs on Google apps.

## Managing multiple contact lists on an iPhone

A quick way to find out which contacts are currently loaded up on your iPhone, is by going inside the **Contacts app**, or the **Phone app** of your iPhone.

By tapping the **Groups** icon on the top left, you'll understand that an iPhone is capable of visibly merging different databases into one single contact list.

While in some cases it is handy to have your iPhone consolidate contact lists, in most cases it actually leads to **confusion.** Because everything is neatly merged, there is no easy way to recognize in which cloud database a specific contact is being stored.![](//images.ctfassets.net/f2ysq090txql/3R930qCIp77bn5CBEqOTug/e4937fa14b75e0b5e8fda7df552698f1/image.gif)

  
<InfoBox>Where is your mom's contact stored? Is it in iCloud? Google Contacts? Your SIM card? Worse yet, is it in all three of them simultaneously? Your iPhone actually dedupes them & merges identical contacts visually!  
  
The idea is ultimately that your phone merely acts as a window into contacts databases, so we suggest you visit [contacts.google.com](http://contacts.google.com) or [icloud.com/contacts](https://www.icloud.com/contacts) respectively to see & manage these lists.</InfoBox>

## Where are your contacts stored?

So how does your iPhone manage contacts? This help article can't possibly cover all possible scenarios, but here's how you can easily find out how your iPhone is setup currently.  
  
Go to **Settings -> Contacts -> Accounts** to find out which services are allowed to manage/add contacts on your phone. In the example shown to the left, there are three accounts moving contacts into this iPhone:  

1.  iCloud
2.  Personal gmail.com
3.  G-suite-domain

It's very likely you will see something different on your phone: you may or may not have iCloud, you could have an [Outlook](http://www.piesync.com/outlook-office365/) account, and so on.

<InfoBox>**Did you know?** Connecting a Google account to an iPhone will **import** your Google Contacts. However, the contacts that you had on your phone before **are not moved to Google**. They remain stored on iCloud or on your phone! Follow these instructions to back up those contacts to Google.</InfoBox>

The next steps will help you consolidate your contacts into Google's ecosystem instead. **Wherever your contacts are,** with the [**Google Drive app**](https://itunes.apple.com/be/app/google-drive-secure-online-file-storage/id507874739), you can push your Contacts data from your iCloud or those that are locally stored  to the Google Drive and into Google Contacts.

## Move your iPhone Contacts to Google Contacts with the Google Drive app

1. [Download Google Drive](https://drive.app.goo.gl/?link=https://drive.google.com/_/backup/ios&ibi=com.google.Drive&ius=googledrive&isi=507874739) to your iPhone and sign in with your Google account. If you don’t have a Google Account, you can create one when you sign-in to Google Drive. Already have Google Drive? Make sure it’s up to date.

2. Now it’s time to backup your content. Open Google Drive and go to the backup wizard in Menu > Settings > Backup. You can select which content you want to backup or simply backup everything. Then hit “Start”.

3. Sign-in to your Google Account on your iPhone.

4. Go to your iPhone settings and **make sure your default account is the selected** **Gmail account**.This ensures that new contacts are added to Google Contacts and can then be synced to your cloud apps such as your CRM.

<InfoBox>Don't forget to set up the "Default account" to be Google! Merely connecting a Google account isn't sufficient, you also need to make sure new contacts you create on your phone are immediately created inside Google via this setting.</InfoBox>

Setting up your iPhone to sync with Google Contacts

Where possible, PieSync offers bidirectional field mappings (two-way). However, there are **some exceptions** where a mapping can only be set up one-way:  

*    When a **field cannot be modified** in the application you are syncing.

*   When a **field only allows some specific values**. In that case we do not allow writing to the field because we cannot guarantee the new value is allowed by the field. For example: dropdown, (multi)-select, status,... fields.

*   When **two mapped fields have different types** such as text, number, date,... In some of those cases we cannot guarantee a correct conversion in both sync directions. For example: the data in a number field can easily be converted to a text field, but not all text values can be synced back to the number field.

Bear in mind that the **general direction** of your connection affects your syncing behavior. When you have configured your connection as a one way sync in the other way (→), the following message will pop up.

Why can my fields only be mapped one-way?

## Step 1: Choosing your apps

In setting up a sync connection, you first choose [the apps](/help/faq/which-connectors-do-you-support/) that contain the contacts data you need synced. We have provided a handy search bar to quickly get to the apps you're looking for. After you select the first app, you immediately proceed to select the second app. We will connect to these apps in a second step.

## Step 2: Authorize your apps

In order to use PieSync, you need to have registered accounts with the apps you selected. At this point, you'll need to connect PieSync to these apps so we can fetch the contacts data configuration. You do this for both apps. While the screenshots below are some examples, [the instructions for your app are listed separately on this page](/help/connector-apps). If it is the first time using PieSync, you will need to authorize both apps, one after the other.

If you have previously set up a connection with any of these apps, you can choose to re-purpose that authorization. Of course, you can also choose to login to your apps with a separate account too.

## Step 3: Choose your contact type

Choose whether you want to sync Contacts or Leads. The availability to sync Leads depends on whether your app has a Leads entity

## Step 4: Configure your sync

### 4.1 A two-way sync is made up by at least two rules

Once you authorized  2 apps, you tell PieSync how we should keep your contacts data in sync. By default, PieSync proposes a two-way sync with a drop-down to allow for one-way syncs ([do I need one-way or two-way?](/help/features/sync-direction/)).

A two-way sync starts off with 2 rules. Each rule fulfills the conditions of each side of the sync. PieSync looks at all the data stored on each side, so you can define exactly what data needs to move from one side to the other.

> _In this  example, rule 1 dictates that for every contact that PieSync finds in Google Contacts, PieSync will update or create one in Copper in case it didn't exist already there. Rule 2 completes this 2 way sync: for each contact that exists in Copper, a counterpart will be updated or created in Google Contacts. For instance, if you don't need all of your Copper contacts into Google Contacts, simply remove this rule!_

If you need a simple all-to-all sync, this is all you need to set up (ie. don't change anything to the default setup). Starter plans are limited to two of these rules, but **the Pro plan and onward allow for more**. Why would you need more than 2 rules? Read on!

### 4.2) Adding conditions & actions

Your contacts don't behave the same way across apps:

*   In your marketing tool, customers are recipients that move across distribution lists and change subscriber status
*   in your invoicing tool, they have carefully kept address & contact information
*   In your contacts management tool linked to your phone, you expect to have their phone numbers and benefit from caller ID
*   In your e-commerce platform, new buyers become customers
*   ..And in your CRM, your customers should consolidate all of this information into a single view

Through PieSync you can and you should tweak the sync so that not only contacts get synced, but you also respect the segmentation, tags, groups, categories, custom attributes, subscription status, ... of the apps that the contacts live in. In a PieSync [rule](/help/features/multiple-rules/), you can choose to add a filter and add actions to syncs.

> Good to know; in a two-way sync, PieSync will suggest to optionally undo & revert the actions so you can sync datasets in unison. In the above example, all of the contacts in Google Contacts label "Coworkers" are those that are in HubSpot's static list. If you remove contacts from the Hubspot list, they also get their Google Contacts label removed.

What you can do [depends from app to app](/help/faq/which-connectors-do-you-support/). Typically, it is in the if-clause that you'll be able to define a segment of your contacts. In the then-clause, you can perform actions such as adding the contacts to the counterpart of that same segment in the other app. Combine this with other actions you can perform as a result of a sync, and the possibilities are truly endless.

### 4.3) Connection settings

In addition to setting up sync rules, PieSyncs presents a series of app-dependent options. These include: 

*   a toggle to help [AVOID DUPLICATES](/help/features/avoid-duplicates/) - possibly hard-coded by default
*   handy ways to have PieSync [SYNC DELETIONS](/help/features/syncing-deletions/) or [SYNC UNSUBSCRIBES](/help/features/syncing-unsubscribes/) across datasets
*   you should [CHOOSE YOUR MASTER APP ](/help/features/master-app/)so that during the initial sync and afterwards, conflicting changes can be resolved
*   in connections that include Google Contacts, we suggest you [ADDITIONALLY SYNC TO THE GOOGLE CONTACTS GROUP 'MY CONTACTS'](/help/features/my-contacts/), especially useful for iPhone users, as your iPhone contacts get synced to 'my contacts' in Google by default.

### 4.4) Field mapping

A contact is more than just a name. All your contacts attributes need to be carefully mapped with one another in a sync. 

*   PieSync's [DEFAULT FIELD MAPPING](/help/features/new-default-field-mapping/) shows you those default fields we will always keep in sync and details how we mapped them between the two apps you have connected. You cannot change these fields.
*   In the [CUSTOMIZABLE FIELD MAPPING](/help/features/new-customizable-field-mapping/), you'll be able to map fields stored in your apps that we didn't find logical counterparts for. This includes default fields as well as custom fields. The customizable field mapping is set up and shown in the white part below the default field mapping in the configuration. You can add an unlimited amount of mappings and remove, enable/disable them anytime.

### 4.5) Start syncing!

Make sure no other integrations are running next to PieSync for the accounts you have connected in PieSync. Other integrations will have access to your data and have the ability to manipulate as well. For this reason, we kindly ask you to use PieSync and nothing else to keep your data in sync. **Other integrations running in parallel with PieSync are a no-go!**

_In case you have a lot of contacts in your applications, the initial sync will take some time, even if you configured PieSync only to sync a subset of your contacts. During the initial scan, we need to process all of your contacts (also the contacts outside the chosen subset) to avoid duplicates during the sync. After the initial sync, it should never take much longer than five minutes for updates to show._

## Step 5: Monitor your connection in the Health Dashboard

Once the connection is running, the [health dashboard](https://www.piesync.com/help/features/health-beta/) will be your real-time view into PieSync's operations. It provides insight into: 

*   Contacts in Sync
*   Contacts excluded from the sync
*   Duplicate Contacts
*   Summary of Performed Actions
*   Summary of Failure Reasons
*   Activity Timeline

We simply ask your login details and your permission. **To Authorize your MS Dynamics 365 account, we need your Microsoft Dynamics 365 'Root Service Address', to be found in the URL of your application, it should end in** **_dynamics.com_.**

## Default Field Mapping

Depending on the other app you're syncing with, you'll see a number of standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 fields being mapped by default. For instance, in a connection with Google Contacts, the default field mapping looks like this:

<InfoBox>PieSync syncs the default name field(s) that come with the apps. Sometimes they have a different structure in both apps you connect. E.g. first and last names are separate in app A and joint in a single field in app B. In the background, PieSync joins first and last names together from app A to B and separates them again from app B to A. Our algorithm is smart about which part it updates in app B</InfoBox>

## Customizable Field Mapping

You can custom map your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Custom Fields and any additional standard fields that aren't included in the default mapping yet. Bear in mind a mapping between two fields can only exist if the types of fields are compatible and the particular compatibility will determine the direction of the mapping as well. ### Syncing Unsubscribes/Deletions

Currently, there are no MS Dynamics 365 integrations on the PieSync platform that support our [Unsubscribes](/help/features/syncing-unsubscribes/)/[Deletions](/help/features/syncing-deletions/) sync.

<InfoBox>The availability to Sync Unsubscribes/Deletions is app and connection dependent. If the box (screenshots above) is not there to tick, it's simply not possible. We need to be able to detect unsubscribes/deletions on one side and at the same time be able to create add the tag 'PieSync Unsubscribes' or ‘PieSync Trash’ on the other side. The field mappings allow you to decide which contact data should be synced for each contact. Every connection comes equipped with a predefined list of mapped contact fields, which we call the "[Default Field Mapping](/help/features/new-default-field-mapping/)". This a list of the default contact fields that PieSync was already able to map. 

As of the Pro Plan, you are able to customize the default field mappings and you are also able to add your own field mappings. This is what we will discuss in this article. Any user-created mapping is also often referred to as the "**Custom (Field) Mapping"**.  

_Below you see an example of the field mapping between Pipedrive and ActiveCampaign. Of course, the list of default mapped fields is dependant on the apps you have connected and which (custom) fields you have available on both sides._

### Changing the Default Field Mapping

As the default field mapping is a predefined list of mappings, some of the field mappings might not suit your use case. In that case, you are able to change that field mapping by:

1.  Disabling the mapping by setting the toggle to 'off'
2.  Adding a field mapping and selecting the two fields you want to connect instead.

_In the example below we wanted to remap the default mapping for 'Phone' <=> 'Work Phone' to 'Phone' <=> 'Home Phone' and 'Mailing Address' <=> 'Work Address' to 'Mailing Address' <=> 'Home Address':_

### Adding Custom Mappings

To add your own field mapping, simply click 'Add field mapping' below the Default Field Mapping. 

By default the custom mappings will sync in the direction you have set up in the configuration of your connection, so this could be either two-way or one-way. However, you are often able to change the sync direction of your custom field mappings.

## Authorizing KW Command

### Via Your KWCommand Portal
Here's how to authorize KWCommand through your KWCommand Portal.

1. Click on the arrow next to your avatar and name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.
2. Click __Settings__ from the dropdown menu.
3. Scroll down to the sub-heading __Productivity__ and click __Connect Account__ next to __PieSync__.

## Start Syncing

Hit the "start syncing now" button once you have finalized your configuration. PieSync will first scan all your contacts in both applications, even if you only choose to sync a subset. This initial scan is necessary to [avoid duplicates](/help/features/avoid-duplicates/). After this scan, the synchronization will start! If you have a lot of contacts, this can take a bit longer.

Our pricing plans are based on the [amount of contacts](/help/faq/how-does-pie-sync-calculate-the-total-contact-count/)​ and features.

At the top of [**the page**](https://www.piesync.com/pricing/), there's an adjustable slider which correlates with the amount of contacts you wish to keep in sync.

To calculate the total contact count , we add up the unique contacts in sync PER connection. If the contact is present in two connections, we count that contact twice as these are two separate syncs we perform (we scan every 2-3 minutes) to keep that contact in sync continuously between the two particular apps in each connection.

How to manage your PieSync account and set up billing

With the IF/THEN rules you can dictate which contacts need to sync. Henceforth, we shall refer to these IF/THEN sentences as _rules_. 

By default PieSync will set you up with a two-way and all-to-all sync, which consists of a rule for each app without any [filters or actions.](/help/features/conditions-and-actions/)  

1. **TWO-WAY SYNC:** A two-way sync starts off with two rules by default. Each rule fulfils the conditions of each side of the sync. PieSync looks at all the data stored on each side, so you can define exactly what data needs to move from one side to the other and vice versa.

In this example, the first rule dictates that for every contact that PieSync finds in Google Contacts, PieSync will update or create one in ActiveCampaign in case it didn't exist already there. The second rule completes this two-way sync: for each contact that lives in ActiveCampaign, a counterpart will be updated or created in Google Contacts. For instance, if you don't need all of your ActiveCampaign contacts into Google Contacts, simply remove this rule!  
If you need a simple all-to-all sync, this is all you need to set up (i.e., don't change anything to the default setup).

2. **ONE-WAY SYNC:** In a one-way sync, a rule based on the other direction won’t do anything. Hence it will be ignored.

3. **UNLIMITED RULES / SETTING UP MORE THAN 2 RULES:** [The starter](https://www.piesync.com/pricing/) plan is limited to two of these rules, but the [Pro plan](https://www.piesync.com/pricing/) allows unlimited rules. Why would you need more than two rules?  
Your contacts don't behave the same way across apps:

*   In your marketing tool, customers are recipients that move across distribution lists and change subscriber status.
*   In your invoicing tool, they have carefully kept address & contact information.
*   In your contacts management tool linked to your phone, you expect to have their phone numbers and benefit from caller ID.
*   In your e-commerce platform, new buyers become customers.
*   ...And in your CRM, your customers should consolidate all of this information into a single view.

Through PieSync you can, and you should tweak the sync so that not only contacts get synced, but you also respect the segmentation, tags, groups, categories, custom attributes, subscription status, ... of the apps that the contacts live in. In a PieSync rule, you can choose to add a filter and add actions to syncs. More information on conditions and actions [here](/help/features/conditions-and-actions/).

### Why are my contacts not syncing? Why is my sync not working? Why am I seeing duplicates?

These are questions you might have if you see anything unusual happen with your contacts or sync(s) and you're wondering 'why?' Our troubleshooting tips below can provide an answer to questions about commonly encountered events and might help you fix them.

## 1\. Do your contacts have an email address? Is [_Avoid Duplicates_](/help/features/avoid-duplicates/) enabled? 

The algorithm of PieSync is based on the allocation of an existing email address. **Contacts will only be synced if an email address is included**.  With some applications this setting is mandatory, with others you're able to determine yourself. When mandatory, you can always contact us, we just want to make sure you are aware of possible implications before doing so.

## 2. Are your contacts part of the rules (IF/THEN) you have configured?

Through PieSync you can and you should tweak the sync so that not only contacts get synced, but you also respect the segmentation, tags, groups, categories, custom attributes, subscription status, ... of the apps that the contacts live in. In a PieSync [rule](/help/features/multiple-rules/), you can choose to add a filter, and add actions to syncs. 

**It’s crucial to know the distinction between adding additional filters (IF) within a rule (AND) or creating a completely new rule per filter (IF).**

For each filter you add within a rule, you establish an extra **requirement**. A contact will only be synced when it fulfills **ALL** of the requirements. In the example below, a contact needs to have the birthday equal 10/20/2020 **and** is not starred **and** company equals PieSync in order for it to be synced.

Creating separate rules for each filter allows you to sync contacts that are in **ANY** of the filters (IF) you choose rather than having to be present in **ALL** before it will sync.

## 3. Does PieSync still have access to your app-accounts? _(Access Revoked/Authentication Failed)_?

Due to long inactivity, changes in your login details or changes in the API restrictions, it might happen that PieSync loses access to your applications. 

Rauthenticate your account via the **red banner**, visible on your configuration page. 

1.  Log in on the [**PieSync platform**](https://app.piesync.com/signin)
2.  Click the **"connections" tab** and access your connection
3.  Click the **configuration** button at the top right of the page.

## 4. Do your contacts meet the app-requirements?

Whether or not a contact is being kept in sync between two applications can also be dependent on the requirements of the applications itself. 

The example below shows a contact in _Capsule CRM_ which can only be created after providing a first or last name. Therefore, a contact will not be synced if this requirement is not met. Another example, for instance: a contact in HubSpot be created with only an email address. In a connection with Capsule, this contact will not be synced to Capsule until the first or last name is added there first.

## 5. Am I trying to sync CONTACT/LEADS information?

We only sync **contact & leads** information. 

Depending on the apps you have connected, you might be looking for data that you believe to be part of the contacts in that app. However, it might actually be part of a different entity we don't sync (just) yet. In the example below, we only sync **People & Leads.**

## 6. Is there a third party or native integration _in parallel with PieSync_ active?

Before activating PieSync, you want to make sure there is no other native or third-party integration **running in parallel**. Some applications come with their own integrations. Other/parallel integration(s) will also have access to your data and the ability to manipulate which could cause large numbers of duplicates & loops. That's why we ask you to use PieSync and nothing else to keep your data in sync between two apps.

## 7. Did you make an adjustment to a field that is mapped?

It's important to check the default field mappings between a connection. If you update a contact field in application A and you notice it's not syncing to application B, this field might not be part of the default mappings. In some cases, this can be solved by adding a [custom field mapping](/help/features/new-customizable-field-mapping/).  

## 8. Case sensitivity

The screenshot below shows an example of a rule to create segmentation based on the Company Name.   

The value of these fields are **case sensitive**. This means that contacts with the allocated "**p**ie**s**ync" name in QuickBooks will **NOT** sync.
