In this video, you will learn how to set up a sync between Follow Up Boss and Google Contacts.
Supported Follow Up Boss Integrations
Authorizing Follow Up Boss
For Follow Up Boss, We need your API key which you can find under 'My settings'. API access is available for all Follow Up Boss users. When you click 'Authorize Follow Up Boss', a pop-up window appears that visualizes where to find this information in Follow Up Boss.
Don't worry, though, we treat your data securely with absolute confidentiality!
If you already authorized Follow Up Boss in the past or in any other PieSync integration, you'll be able to skip this step and choose from your CONNECTED ACCOUNTS.
[IF] Supported Conditions/Filters
By default we'll sync any contact from your Follow Up Boss list of contacts (section "People"). You can choose to have PieSync only sync a subset of these:
- (does not have) TAG (to specify)
- (not) OWNED BY ME (= user that authorised FUB)
- OWNED BY
- STAGE (Buyer, Closed, Contact, Hot Prospect, Lead, Nurture, Past Client, Pending, Seller, Sphere, Trash),
- a filter on FIELDS, including CUSTOM FIELDS
[THEN] Supported Conditions/Filters
When you are syncing contacts into Follow Up Boss, you can choose to have specific actions take place:
- ADD TAG
- REMOVE TAG
- SET OWNER TO
- update CONTACT FIELDS, including CUSTOM FIELDS
When updating the owner of a contact, a tag referring to the previous owner is added.
Default Field Mapping
Follow Up Boss contact records offers default fields to store contact information. Depending on the other app you're syncing with, a default mapping to those fields is proposed. This could look like this, on the left, Google, on the right, Follow Up Boss.
If you are expecting some Follow Up Boss fields to appear here and they are not, it is likely the other app does not support this field by default and they will have to be custom mapped.
PieSync syncs the default name field(s) that come with the apps. Sometimes they have a different structure in both apps you connect. E.g. first and last names are separate in app A and joint in one field in app B. In the background, PieSync joins first and last names together from app A to B and separates them again from app B to A. Our algorithm is smart about which part it updates in app B
Customizable Field Mapping
This feature allows you to create custom mappings, defining which contact fields should be kept in sync between your applications, including standard and custom fields. Want to know more about setting up custom fields in Follow Up Boss? Find out here!
The customizable field mapping is set up and shown in the white part below the default field mapping in the configuration. You can add an unlimited amount of mappings and remove, enable/disable them anytime. More information on Customizable Field Mapping.
When available, PieSync detects your deletions in app A of your sync and adds a tag/folder/list/group/...(app dependent) in app B, named 'PieSync Trash'. We choose not to automatically delete the deleted contacts on the other side, as we want to empower you, the end user, with taking the final decision on whether to delete the contacts forever, or to restore them. The 'PieSync Trash'...tag/folder/list/group/...(app dependent) allows you to do a double check before doing any unwanted damage with just a small manual action.
PieSync syncs deletions two-way between Google Contacts and Follow Up Boss. This functionality is not available in any other Follow Up Boss integrations we support.
In Follow Up Boss you have the option to change the stage of a contact to TRASH OR actually delete it (which is irreversible). Our Deletions Sync is only triggered when the stage is adjusted to TRASH.
When you have this feature enabled in the dashboard, PieSync detects your unsubscribes on one side of your sync and adds a tag/folder/list/group/...(app dependent) on the other side of the sync, named 'PieSync Unsubscribes'. You can then manually check this new subset of contacts, to see if you actually want to unsubscribe them there as well. We choose not to automatically unsubscribe or delete the unsubscribed contacts on the other side, as we want to empower you, the end user, with taking the final decision on whether to delete the contacts forever, or to restore them. The 'PieSync Unsubscribes'...tag/folder/list/group/...(app dependent) allows you to do a double check before doing any unwanted damage with just a small manual action.
