GETTING STARTED GUIDE: How to set up a new connection?

ALL FEATURES EXPLAINED: All our features/functionality explained in detail - no app-specifics.

Odoo is a powerful open source business app suite including a wide range of possibilities such as CRM, HR, projects, accounting, eCommerce, project management (and much more). Having all of this functionality available in just one platform will help you stay on track and be more efficient allowing you to grow your business. Below you'll find detailed information, specifically for Odoo integrations:

Supported Odoo integrations

Authorizing Odoo

We support the Odoo cloud version 10 and any other version released after that! Besides that, it's also possible to connect self-hosted instances.

To connect with Odoo, we need your database name, subdomain, username and password.

The terms and conditions with regards to self-hosted apps can be found here.

If you already authorized your Odoo Account(s) in the past or in any other PieSync integration, you can skip this step and choose from your CONNECTED ACCOUNTS.

Default Field Mapping

Depending on the other app you're syncing with, you'll see a number of standard Odoo fields being mapped. For instance, a connection with MailChimp will look like this as MailChimp only has 3 standard fields.

PieSync syncs the default name field(s) that come with the apps. Sometimes they have a different structure in both apps you connect. E.g. first and last names are separate in app A and joint in a single field in app B. In the background, PieSync joins first and last names together from app A to B and separates them again from app B to A. Our algorithm is smart about which part it updates in app B.

Customizable Field Mapping

You can custom map your Odoo custom fields and any additional standard fields that aren't included in the default mapping yet. Bear in mind a mapping between two fields can only exist if the types of fields are compatible. More information on Customizable Field Mapping here

Additional Options

Syncing Unsubscribes

In connections with Marketing Tools (e.g. such as MailChimp), you are able to sync unsubscribes one-way. When a contact unsubscribes in e.g. MailChimp, we add the tag 'PieSync Unsubscribes' in Odoo. You will be able to review this segment first before e.g. deleting or taking action on that side of the sync.

Syncing Deletions

We sync deletions the same way in the Odoo/GoogleContacts integration, one-way only from Google to Odoo. If you delete a contact in Google, we'll add the tag 'PieSync Trash' in Odoo so you can review this segment first before deleting it there as well.

The availability of additional sync options is app and connection dependent. If the box (screenshots above) is not there to tick, it's simply not possible. We need to be able to detect deletions on one side and at the same time be able to create add the tag 'PieSync Trash' on the other side. More Information on Syncing Deletions in other integrations here.
