How is the price calculated?

Our system will automatically assign you to the correct pricing tier based on the number of contacts in sync - so the price you’ll pay mainly depends on the total number of contacts you’re syncing. For example, if you have two active connections and each of them is syncing 1,000 contacts, that’s a total of 2,000 contacts. Your price will be based on this. Also, if a particular contact is present in two different syncs, we’ll count that contact twice. This is because each sync is done separately from one another.

In addition, let’s say you have a database with 10,000 contacts, but only want to sync 1,000 of these between apps. That’s okay too! You’ll be in full control over how many contacts you keep in sync, so the pricing will be based on the 1,000 contacts you’re actually syncing.

Should I go for the Starter or Pro plan?

In short, that depends on how much you want to customize your syncs. If you’re happy with PieSync’s default field mappings and don’t really need much customization or segmentation, the Starter plan is the best fit for you. However, if you want more options to segment and filter your syncs (with unlimited if/then rules per sync and custom field mappings) the Pro plan is your best match.

What if I sync more contacts than my current plan allows?

There’s no limit to the number of contacts you can sync with us. If you go over the contact limit for your pricing tier, you will be automatically upgraded to a new tier according to your actual contact count. Don’t worry, we’ll notify you when and if this happens and let you know what the next steps are. Read more about it here.

What are rules?

In the PieSync universe, rules are the “if/then” sentences in your configuration that determine which contacts will be included in your sync. You can use these rules to create segments of your contacts to be synced to and from your chosen apps.

In the Starter plan, you can have up to two of these rules per connection. In the Pro plan, you get unlimited rules, giving you more options to filter and segment your contact database.

What are custom field mappings?

Your apps may have different fields on their contact records, including custom fields created by you. PieSync will automatically sync common fields across apps - like syncing a ‘first name’ field to another ‘first name’ field - but you can also customize how you want to sync certain fields. That’s what custom field mapping means. This feature is only available in the Pro plan.

If you’re going for the Starter option, you’ll only have access to default field mappings, which means PieSync will only sync standard information fields in each of your apps, with no option for you to tailor this. Your apps can have different common fields too, so the default field mappings will depend on the apps you’re syncing.

Can I also set up a one-way connection?

Sure! You can choose the source and destination, and change the direction whenever you feel like it. You can even switch from a one-way to a two-way sync.

Is my data secure?

Yes, it is. Your data just flows through our system, and we use advanced authentication methods, such as Oauth, to make sure the data is secure. We do need to keep track of some identifying values of your data, like email addresses, but we encrypt this data to keep it safe and secure.
